If people read the instructions, they probably are fine in a pinch, but we’d recommend using the bathroom right next to the check-in location before boarding. You do have a distanced view of Cinderella Castle, so you can’t quite see the castle projections in detail, but you have a fantastic wide view of the entire show. If the castle projections are really important to you, then you might want to bring along binoculars (or consider booking a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party instead, which gives you an up-close castle view). If you happen to be celebrating anything during your vacation, be sure to mention that when you make your cruise reservation and the Cast Members will decorate your boat for you. Children under age 12 must wear life jackets at all times while onboard - life jackets in several different sizes are complimentary and will be provided before you board. The view for the fireworks from the boat is a super unique experience, but things like the projections and Tinker Bell flying were hard to see from this distance.
We’ve now done this trip multiple times and walked away satisfied enough but not blown away. It’s not a repeat event for us, just like it wasn’t the first go-round (yes, we realize we ended up back here. 6 years had passed — we had to check it out for you!). Compared to the first version of this cruise we experienced, the earlier version gets the edge for us simply because it felt a bit more coherent and planned out. Again, if you’re in the market for a dessert party, this will do fine, but it’s pricey for what it is and there are better options out there. For our money, there’s a lot of better ways to spend $100 in Disney World AND still enjoy the fireworks.

As we traveled on, we got to pass some of the gorgeous resorts located on Bay Lake. We saw The Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. There are no words to describe how they look at night, all lit up, reflecting in the waters beneath them.
This experience takes you on a gorgeous tour of some of Disney’s waterways, giving you a vantage point of some of this scenery you can’t get any other way. You get to see the Electrical Water Pageant up close and personal, which is an added bonus to the main event. It was great after a busy Disney day in the parks, to be able to sit on the water, enjoying the company of others, while snacking and talking. Let’s not forget about the snacks and drinks on board, as well as the amazing opportunity to see the fireworks in comfort and without the crowds. Oh boy, planning a Disney trip can be quite the adventure, and we totally get it!
Soon enough you are in front of Magic Kingdom with an ideal view for Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. There is no need to worry about missing the music that accompanies the show, because it is played through the speakers on the boat as soon as the show begins. The fireworks show sparkled over the water, and the feeling of not having to fight with thousands of other people on Main Street USA just to get a decent spot to view the fireworks, is unbeatable! We loved the snacks and drinks, the privacy and the entire experience as a whole.

Luminous typically begins at 9PM, but fireworks may have a later start time during peak crowd seasons such as the holidays, or throughout the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays.
